Bengals as pets

Like
wild cats, Bengal kittens go through a stage referred to as 'The
Fuzzies'.
In
nature, the fuzzy appearance of cubs’ coats helps protect them
from predators.

Because
Bengals are bred to be pretty close to
their wild ancestor (the Asian Leopard Cat), this wild trait remains.
At
around three weeks of age guard hairs
appear, fuzzing out the striking pattern.
The
kitten will be between five and nine months before its sleek
adult pattern will emerge.
The
Bengal makes a loving, intelligent house-cat.
They are litter box trained like any other domestic cat.
Some Bengals love playing in water and all are curious and entertaining
little
creatures.

They
enjoy companionship from both adults and children and will fit in
very easily
with other family pets. Immunization and Nutrition are the same as any
other
Domestic household cat.
Bengal Personality
Bengals
are extremely intelligent cats,
who
form strong bonds with their owners?
They
love to interact with their humans
and
are always found at the center of any family
activity.
The
Bengal's activity level is very high
and
they love to play, run and leap.
They
are great climbers and jumpers.
They
could at times be described as mischievous.
Bengals
are not a cat to be ignored.
They
sometimes demand a lot of attention but they
will always keep you entertained with their antics.
They
are extremely affectionate, often described as
having a 'dog like' personality they are easily trained.
Many
Bengals have a love of water and
love to play with it.
They
may scoop their water dishes
with their paws,
play
in puddles or follow owners into
the shower or bath tub.
It
is not difficult to train; you
can even train
them to walk on a leash,
fetch
or even to shake hands.
Bengals
make fun, affectionate,
wonderful pets and are great with children and dogs.
Bengals
are medium size and muscular
cats.
They
are unique in that they do not
have fur like other cats,
instead
they have pelts.
Bengals
also have or carry the
glitter gene,
which makes them shimmer-light?
Bengals should retain the look of the wild but with
the
temperament
of a well balanced
domestic cat.
